The Tattooed Kid

I go to a club in the mornings everyday, one good thing possible due to my office timings, everything about work isn't bad afterall. So the club provides facilities of a gym, a badminton court where i am a regular, swimming pool and some other things like carrom, pool, sauna bath and table tennis etc. Though the overall anbience of the place is quite compelling, not to mention the presence of good figured individuals which adds to the temptation, my main concentration is gym/badminton with swimming being an occasional occurence.
So,whenever that occasional occurence takes place i notice a few things which get supplemented by some conversations which i overhear, again occasionally. These are actually doubts which come to my 'now not so innocent' mind.
I see kids... Now this is nothing unusual like 'I see dead people...' in 'The Sixth Sense'... But still, i see tattooed kids. Many kids between the age group of 7-17 are nowadays tattooed, especially in Mumbai. Atleast in this club.. Though i am taking the liberty of calling a 17 year boy/girl a 'kid' while i am writing this blog, it is definitely not the case in real life...I mean 17 year old girl...Come on man i am just 8-10 years older...As per Wikipedia,on 14 March 2010, Saif Ali Khan is 39 and Kareena 29...!!! Point conveyed i guess...
While tattoos on animals are most commonly used for identification or branding, in humans, historically they were used as rites of passage, marks of status and rank, symbols of religious and spiritual devotion, decorations for bravery, sexual lures and marks of fertility etc.
Today, people choose to be tattooed for cosmetic,sentimental/memorial, religious and magical reasons. Still it is fine and all right.
But the point i am trying to convey here is different, just hold on for some more time...
Today, while i was swimming, i saw a kid in the pool, not more than 9/10. From a distance, i could see a tattoo on his right arm. A mickey mouse like tattoo-- Two big ears, colorful costume and stuff. Five minutes later i observed the kid closely, as he was nearer this time...It was not a mickey mouse tattoo.. The tattoo was of a belly dancer, a exaggerated cartoon sketch..Colorful but very short costume and then i realised that those were not 'two big ears of Mickey Mouse' afterall..
Now these things confuse me and some more such incidences add to my misery...
Once while i was resting after an exasperating game of badminton, i overheard the conversation of two similarly aged kids. They were talking about movies and there chat made me reminiscent of my engineering days. It was almost like two second year engineering hostelers talking about Mallika Sherawat.
See, there is no harm in getting a tattoo, but there are ways of expression which should be appreciated and followed...
It is not about a tattoo, it is about the degree of arrogance which can be easily observed in upper middle class kids nowadays... They call each other 'dude' atleast 5 times in a one minute conversation, they are all obese (mostly), they all live on X Boxes and Playstations which have games which are becoming increasingly offensive and they all treat you like sidekicks from a Rajnikant B Grader...
Once a shorty, just a few inches above my knee, asked me, 'Dude! Can i play with your racket for sometime, mine got f---ed. I need to nail the ba---rd who defeated me'. I obliged, but again the doubts popped up.
All this looks fine for an early twenty person, in fact some of this needs to be their in a boy/girl just out of teenage. But for the kids of 7-14 age group, some of this can be eliminated.
Are the parents not aware? Or are they aware but ignore? Or are they aware and are proud?... Or are they aware but can't help?.... Some of them are definitely confused, as this arrogance and offensive body language is often considered to be the hallmark of a smart, competitive kid....

I will stop the philosphical bit here. And while i continue to analyze and look for answers, i will still be happy to see the tattooed kid swimming along me, side by side...!

Summer Draining...Girls/Young Women!!

I left at 'Bandra kon side'...i never knew the side on which the platform would come..but the bad breath gave me such a yucky feeling that i had to shove this man off..i said,"On the other side."..thought it wouldn't be much of a trouble for me as the man would soon get lost in the crowd...but the moment i opened my mouth,an old man negated my comment by pointing on the other side,"YE SIDE", he said...the zombie gave me the coldest look of a lifetime...people around were also staring at me...anyways,the blog has 'girls' as a part of the title...

When u r sweating it out in the heat, with a drenched shirt, the coolest thing that can happen to u is the sight of a beautiful girl....on a per day basis,i am falling in love with 3-4 girls...alas!mumbai will soon be gone, and so will the girls..
With the kind of age i m in(24 years)...it is perfectly natural to develop interest in women of the 28-32 age group..this of course is relaxable to 35 years as per the case/requirements...
I am saying this specifically in reference to my next statement which is for all guys who are likeminded..."In ur lifetime,do get admitted in the Umkal Hospital(Gurgaon) atleast once"...
Because with the kind of nurses they have...it is worth!!!!
So,when i was at Hinduja Hospital(not admitted, coz of my project..remember!!),two things happened...
First...Uday(he is called ud) found a senior resident doctor very cute...(its amazing how he finds cuteness in every second girl)
Second, as i was told by a nurse to wait for 45 min before i could meet the chest physician, i too was looking for smartness/hotness/boldness/tallness/long hairness and what notness...!!!
So while ud went in for the kill with his questionnaire(he planned to interview the senior resident), i found the aforesaid features in a tall girl with beautiful long hair...she was walking out of the hospital towards the pathology labs which were in a different building...
The plan was to follow her and once the hospital building is completely out of sight, ask her about its address...
But if all such ideas can be executed rightly,i wud have been in IIM Ahemdabad and married to Priyanka Chopra...
The moment the girl entered the pathology building, I, still lost in her long wavy hair, heard a voice..."THAMBA".. "PASS HONA MANGTA...",said the guard at the gate...again a dream was shatterd..i cud still see the girl walking away from me...and suddenly the Nana Patekar wala dialogue from Raju Ban Gaya Gentlemen was in my mind...Palat...Palat...Palat...But the girl never got 'Palat'...
I gave the usual ma-behen gali to nana patekar and walked back to the hospital block only to find the dejected soul of ud...the resident doctor had vanished somewhere in the canteen never to be found again...
I consoled him and as the clock was nearing 5 pm,we called it a day and went to the beach nearby...

Summer Draining...

I'll try to make the introduction short...
First blog, was thinking about it for a very long time...
Mumbai was the ultimate inspiration...
For the unknowns, i am currently into my summer training and have completed my first year of Masters in Business Administration(MBA,as it is better known). I am a student of IMT-Ghaziabad(decent college for MBA) and presently working as a Summer Intern at Becton Dickinson...(my friends spell it as dick-in-son, though sounds funny but is completely normal...every son usually has got a dick)...
Getting back(please don't get frustrated,i might often get carried away) to my summers,i am required to travel 5 cities to explore business opportunities in TB diagnosis for the Company...!!
Good project on face value...
So,i have already been to Delhi and Lucknow(my new hometown)...and presently in Mumbai for a week...i have said before that Mumbai inspired me to finally write a blog, not because i am completely fascinated by this 'nagaria' and suddenly the idea has flashed as i am awestruck by the charm...rather its due to the fact that it is the first time i am learning about the place as i am traveling a lot...
Mumbai in summers is very humid...and i sweat a lot...and i have to travel in local trains..and the locals are always crowded..re read 'crowded'..in fact i should write it in bold..crowded...recall the fevicol wala ad and extrapolate the one coach to around 12(sometimes 9 coaches) and then finally multiply it with 171(no of local trains) and you have got the mumbai suburban railway in your right hand...!!!
at peak time, there are around 5000+ passengers in a 9 coach train and 14-16 stand in per square meter of floor space..
So on my first day in mumbai,my dear friend Uday (who incidently is my room mate at imt and here at mumbai also..in the guest house, same company) was the boss..
and before i move on...i will like to categorically state that i like girls/young women and feel good on seeing them...i m stating this specifically for my imt mates coz they usually catch me when i talk well about a guy..
On the first day,i too was among the 14 men fighting for a place in that one square meter...
But people in mumbai are nice, they won't make u feel that u r in a fight...if u can manage the sweat, a newbie can actually enjoy the ride in the locals...and while boarding,u can recall the famous aftershave puchline,"for men who don't have to try too hard"..u dont actually have to try too hard....just stand in front of a gate and the storm of crowd behind will automatically push u in...
so both of us(me and uday) were in this local and were not able to see each other coz i was not able to turn my face in his direction because of a hand which was almost attached with my left cheek..we were able to talk though...suddenly a man who was facing me,eye for a draculian eye(his eye), with his big fat tummy pressing against my stomach(i was taller than this zombie man) opened his mouth and asked,"bandra kon side"...(to be contd...)
